Victor Hugo Zapata Gómez: Percussion and drummer. He began his musical studies at age 7 years in the Popular School of Art (EPA), through the musical influence of his father who served as music teacher in this institution. He continued his studies at the Institute of Fine Arts, the College of Music and The Faculty of Arts at the University of Antioquia. In 1998, used his visit to Valencia (Spain) for training in the interpretation of classical music and symphony Lliria Primitive School in instruments like a snare, marimba, xylophone and timpani Symphony, among others. His experience as a percussionist has led him to integrate different musical groups, as also accompany many national and international artists in concerts that have taken place in South America, Europe and USA, playing different music genres like salsa, latin-jazz, Colombian folk music and symphonic music. Among the most celebrated artists, including: • Dave Valentin (USA) • Richie Ray (USA) • Alfredo de la Fé (CUBA) • Javier Colina (SPAIN) • Maria Rivas and Luis Felipe Gonzalez (VENEZUELA), • Raquel Zozaya (CUBA) • Mariano Civic Yohny Rivera and David Pabon (PUERTO RICO) • Maria Martha Serra Lima (CHILE) • Hansel Camacho, Gustavo Rodriguez, Czech Acosta, Charlie Cardona and Edy Martínez (COLOMBIA), among others. Musician has been invited by the Symphonic Band from the University of Antioquia, Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra and the Gale Group. It has also integrated groups such as: • The Republic • La Banda Sonora Carruseles • The Ballet Folklorico de Antioquia • Brass Quintet Medellin • The Big Band of Medellin addition, participation in several International Jazz Festivals have provided rewarding musical experiences and personal. These have been conducted in the cities of: • The Hague (Netherlands) • Montreal (Canada) • Milan (Italy), • and national festivals of Medellín, Bogotá and Manizales. He has participated in the recording of several CDs as a musician accompanying instruments such as Marimba, Drums, Congas, Timbales, doumbeks, Bongos, D'jembe, folk drums, Flute, Four and Treble. He has also served as a teacher in the National Band and Music Department of Bands Plan, and has become part of the teaching staff of the First and Second Cohort of Directors' Diploma of Music at the University of Antioquia.
