Can You Iron A Projector

In these very modern, where rationality has taken over all, speak of myth may seem unnecessary. What myths would need if reason and cognitive tool of choice, science, are slowly discovering the mysteries of the universe? That is the question that anyone imbued with rationalism and modernity poses to the demands of myth.

But does science and reason will be able to account for everything that exists? Moreover, does the myth is merely an explanation of what exists, as it should be science and reason? Interestingly, to criticize the myth is now required to be confined to one area of \u200b\u200bexplanation, while it makes science and reason something beyond the explanation of what it is. By scientism absolutize we are led to the scientists and their achievements, making us forget that it remains a method, although quite effective in its objectives. But we must remember that every thought is formally mythical, even rational thought: the concepts are based on images that give meaning to objects and processes incommensurate with their representation and, as result, subject to interpretation.

Myth and reason need not clogged. The myth does not have to be the opponent of reason, as we have been led to believe by the apologists of modernity. The myth can be understood as the metaphorical expression of reason. The myth evokes, suggests, the precise reason. One is polysemous while the other strives for uniqueness. Not compete in their objectives and even reason and science can inspire reached the myth productively. Reason and science explain, but the myth that can give meaning.

Is it possible coexistence between myth and rational explanation? For centuries coexisted both forms of approach to the existing. In the pre-Socratic Greece, when the ratio was speculative, shared space with the myth (mythical speculation). It seems to be the Enlightenment movement that was unacceptable, since and for many, this peaceful coexistence between myth and reason. But for us, the contrast between myth and reason or between myth and science is not acceptable and we reject it.

At this time of profound disorientation need more than ever the myth. Because the myth is not merely provide us with an explanation, as polysemous and suggestive. He also talks about our origins, our identity and deployment of it in history. As mentioned earlier, gives us meaning, something that the modern world is concerned. The myth gives us, as a collective belief of a national community, a unanimous beneficial namely cohesive. The myth of a people oriented to regenerate and rebuild their world affirming its original principles, those that speak of the historical vocation of the people. The myth is both etiology and paradigm. In the opposite case, that of those people who do not already have myths having been deprived of them, will be difficult and regeneration.
