Normal
One of the duties of the artist is to be the bearer of a certain irreverence, a certain political incorrectness, a certain distance of power, whatever it is. But real irreverence and political incorrectness, not pose. I am surprised why the actions, or performances, as called its protagonists, against the Catholic religion and belief, by some who claim to be disrespectful or wrong. Is that genuine irreverence and political incorrectness?
In the nineteenth century Spain itself had been described as irreverent acts. And risky. But today? With a government that despises publicly to the Catholic hierarchy and Catholics themselves, with means, the vast majority, apart or directly against, any Catholic sensibilities, with a social environment that is not exactly the most favorable to Catholicism, is irreverent incorrect or hazardous a performance anti-Catholic? I doubt it. I believe that such actions have nothing to counter acts, on the contrary, are clearly of sheepish nature, are those of the majority.
furious Associations atheists and secularists protesting loudly about what they consider interference of a particular religion, provided Catholicism in the state or its institutions. At first I say that in Spain there is, in principle, freedom of worship, and that therefore the state should not express any priority for his religion, atheism. A second will tell you that yes, still some abuses, but also must be provided. And consistent.
eaters in many public schools and, therefore, government has failed to serve pork to eat. Upset this meal Muslim newcomers and to avoid problems, has been abolished for all. Is this, or is not a religious imposition on the state or its institutions? Why then their silence, Mr. secularists? The same happens in certain dining rooms and the phenomenon is growing. The inhabitants of Ceuta and Melilla are awakened early in the Muslim call to prayer. Is there not secular in Ceuta and Melilla to protest against this intrusion of religion?
On a recent trip to Manchester City I could see that, near the Bridge of the Americas, is a huge mosque. That day, coincidentally, was Friday, the hour was three in the afternoon and in the courtyard of the mosque and outside on the sidewalk, had an impressive crowd. They were Muslims, some of whom were black and most Moors. Occupied the whole the pavement related to the mosque. Why do not I found myself in the mosque and the sidewalk to some atheist preaching his religion, or some secular to ensure that a private belief not interfere with the normal course of the day?
A consistent secularism will have to demonstrate publicly against any religious interference in public. If that intrude are Muslims, too, unless those secularists are inconsistent, have a hidden agenda and other political persuasions, ideological, even religious, less well known. If today there is a real and alarming threat to the separation between religion and state in Spain is the rise of Islam, as a result of mass immigration. It goes without saying here that Islam does not recognize such a separation and that in addition to religion, Islam is a political agenda. The secular bear a "frightened?," Hypocrite?, Complications?, Silence about all this.
